Stand Up and Sing!
Led by Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul & Mary), GRAMMY®-nominated performing artist Carolyn Malachi and Americana artist Jason McIntyre, this inspiring and lively public event will showcase the social change music of five to eight competitively screened local singer-songwriters.

Compositions will be reviewed by Stookey, Malachi and McIntyre, who will also perform and discuss music for social change. The top-reviewed artist wins a spot at the following night's Woody Guthrie Celebration Concert featuring Stookey, Si Khan and other national artists at The State Theatre.

Submit your song of social activism for consideration no later than August 29 to contest@music2life.org, and include:
  • a link to the track or MP3
  • artist’s name, phone and email address
  • brief (250-word max) biography of the artist
All songs must be original compositions. Artists of ALL GENRES and STYLES are encouraged to submit songs for consideration. All songs must be original compositions and speak to social change. Artists must be from the central PA area and available to perform on September 6 and, if selected as best-reviewed artist, September 7. Travel reimbursement, overnight lodging and directions will be provided to selected artists.
